Dear Shomrei Torah Member:

With the summer months now behind us and the beginning of the new Jewish year, it is time to reflect on the past and move forward into the future. As Jews, we traditionally look inwardly at our own choices and behavior as well as outwardly to our family, community, Israel, our country, Israel, and our world. We explore ways in which we may wish to make changes in our lives and look ahead to the coming year with hope for good health, happiness, and prosperity.

Shomrei Torah is our community. We gather in person and online. We gather according to the time of day for minyan. We gather guided by our weekly calendars to come together for Shabbat and religious school. We gather yearly for the High Holidays. Our community also gathers to join friends and attend events and to celebrate life cycle events. Whatever it is that brought you to our community I hope will also inspire you to contribute to our annual High Holiday Appeal.

The Board of Trustees strives to keep our annual dues as low as possible so that cost is not an obstacle to being part of Shomrei Torah. The Board has succeeded in this; we have not had an increase in dues in many years. As a result, dues only cover 60% of our expenses and we depend upon voluntary contributions like the High Holiday Appeal to cover the remainder of our operating costs.

Every gift is a meaningful contribution to our community whether you give $18 or $1800 or any amount. This is especially true this year, with so many families still impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Any gift you provide helps us keep costs down for those in need. It is not the size of your donation that is critical, but rather your commitment to help ensure that Shomrei Torah will be here for our children, grandchildren and all future generations. It is my hope and goal for this coming year to achieve 100% participation in our annual appeal.
